+ROMANCE IN ONE SENTENCE: Pretty hard to capture romance in fewer words — swoon!
+SWEET TWIST ON PILLSBURY CINNAMON ROLLS: I guess everyone saw this reel, because my local grocery was totally out of stock of cinnamon rolls when I stopped by yesterday! I’m dogearing this idea for another random day — maybe my daughter’s birthday in early March. Such an easy, tiny switch up for such a fun surprise!
+HOLDING MY BOOK FOR THE FIRST TIME: I wrote a little bit about this last weekend, but here is a little video of my holding my book for the first time…! Makes me tear up a little bit every time I think about it. Also surreal: sitting here, tapping away, with my two copies sitting on my desk next to me. Incredible companions: proof of time and trying.
+WHERE IS YOUR HEART? Love this quote. Dovetails with a concept I’ve written about in the past: if it’s a calling, it will keep calling. (And sometimes you want to hit snooze!)
+STYLING PEONIES: Wait, I loved this helpful flower arranging video. I had no idea about that trick where you dunk the peony in water! Going to try to recreate this the next time I find peonies at the supermarket. Not the arrangement demonstrated, but how spectacular is this arrangement I found on Pinterest?! I love the architecture of it!
+A SLOW-BURN ROMANCE TO READ: Two-thirds of the way through this heavily-recommended romance (open door, fyi, but on the more poetic and less explicit side) and it’s been the perfect Valentine’s Day week read. Sweet, tender, nostalgic, a little heavy in the backstory. The love interests in the book remind me of that Wuthering Heights quote going around, where Cathy says: “Whatever our souls are made of, his and mine are the same.” The two main characters are outsiders who seem to only understand one another. So sweet.

+I wore this perfect cotton sweater twice this week. Love the fit — hugs the cuff and waist, a little more on the trim side, which I like with my barrel / wide leg jeans. I also wore this fun beaded necklace with a heart charm all week long! Felt just right for V-Day week!

+WHAT ARE YOUR GO-TO 4 P.M. SNACKS?: I’ve been trying to stock healthy/protein-involved snacks for my 4 pm “my blood sugar is dipping” moment. Current favorites: salt and vinegar almonds, cottage cheese with everything bagel seasoning, Pink Lady apples, Firehook Bakery crackers with truffle cheese, any cut fruit in our fridge, bagel chips from our local bagelry dipped into cream cheese. What other easy-to-grab snacks do you keep on hand?

+BESTSELLERS: The Negative whipped track set continues to be a best seller! Reminder to go up a size in the pants. They do run long on us shorties; I don’t mind walking around in a bit of a puddle at home but they also released a cropped version in limited colors if the over-length will bother you as a fellow petite.
